Rheinland-Pokal

Hello everybody,

yesterday Muxor and me visited German horse racing here in our home city Cologne. We are not experts when it comes to German horse racing, but the principle is the same: Back the winner! :-)

We had a few punts with small money and here you can see how we did:

In September there will be another meeting here in Cologne and I am pretty sure we will visit the meeting again.

Cologne v Frankfurt

What a shame the match ended 0-0. The atmosphere was really great. Live sport events are full of emotions and feelings. It is really fascinating.

Bayern Munich vs Werder Bremen

I send you all greetings from Munich. Today I visited the German Bundesliga Match between Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen. What an incredible match!

Bayern Munich was clear favourite with odds of 1.7x pre kick off. I hope no one of you backed them, because you may have lost money. Werder Bremen played really well and scored first.

Bayern Munich was not playing well, maybe they underestimated Bremen. I think this games was not good for trading. In the first half both teams were relative equal, so everything could happen. It was not predictable.

I had no bets on this match I only enjoyed the match. Here are some impressions:

Pre match odds on Bremen around 5.40 and Bremen won 5-2, crazy!

It was a very exiting football match with a big surprise.

Tomorrow I will visit the Oktoberfest and maybe I will post some pictures if am able to :)

1. FC Köln vs Bayern Munich

yesterday I watched the German Bundesliga match 1. FC Köln vs Bayern Munich live in the RheinEnergie stadium.

Before kickoff Ümit Özat spoke to the fans and thanked them for supporting him after his collapse during the match Karlsruhe vs Köln.

This match was also a good example for reading a soccer match. If you have knowledge in soccer I think it is possible to read a game and to anticipate in which direction the match will develop. During the first half both teams did not play their best soccer and I had the feeling Bayern Munich was playing at 50%. Odds pre match:

Köln 6.00
Draw 4.10
Bayern Munich 1.68

I think odds on Bayern at half time would have been something like 2.0x.

In the 2nd half Munich started playing football and defence of Cologne was under pressure. Luca Toni scored twice and later Lukas Podolski scored during the injury time. Final score: Köln vs Bayern 0:3.

I think this was a good game for trading, because you could see, that Munich was playing at 50% during 1st half and you could see easily that they had more pressure on Cologne during 2nd half.

I know it was possible that the match would not develop as predicted, but if so, you need to take a stop loss.

Finals Day

Good morning,

I chose to skip both ATP finals. As Almagro brought already enough upsets last days and don't want to lay odds around 2.

Federer - Davydenko I skipped just because I don't want to bet against the king, although he is still searching for his form with a new coach. But it is still Roger Federer, the world no. 1.

In both WTA matches I placed the lay orders yesterday and got already matched one back bet completely on Serena Williams and the other back bet on Kirilenko partially.

Serena Williams - Vera Zvonareva

Bets for the match:

Lay Williams 70€ @ 1.24 (initial bet was with higher stake, 70€ matched)

Back Williams 66€ @ 1.32

Minimum profit: 4,00€

With these two bets I managed to get the desired profit of 20% from a risk of 20€ even with risking less, as not everything from my initial lay bet was matched. But odds movement was big enough to get this profit. Both bets where matched more then 16 hours before the players will enter the court.

Maria Kirilenko - Iveta Benesova

Layed Kirilenko early yesterday. Odds increased over the night and my back bet was already partially matched. Odds dropped some tics again, but I am very confident that the odds will increase before the match and the hedge will be completed before he first ball is played.

Lay Kirilenko 38,47€ @ 1.52

Back Kirilenko 34,47€ @ 1.7 (4€ already matched)

 

Another match what will be covered today is the fourth game of German icehockey league finals. Last match in the own stadium for the Cologne Sharks for this season. Loocie and Muxor will be in the first row to support the sharks to get a chance for the championship on Tuesday in Berlin.

Update 1:

Both hedges where catched completely prematch and the desired profit of 4,00€ was made in two matches. Makes the hedging for this weeks tournaments a total of 14 to 2 which makes 80% profit with this strategy.

Tennis and Hockey

Yesterday I had not much time for trading tennis, because it's hockey time again. Cologne crushes straight forward to the championship.

First match of the semifinal series against Frankfurt Lions.

In Tennis trading I just tried my luck in one match, but didn't manage to get profit.

In the match

James Blake - Radek Stepanek

I took a free lay during first set, with Blake leading with one break. Stepanek didn't manage to fight back and after Blake winning the set I backed him with leaving minimal loss on him and about 10% profit on Stepanek. Blake won in two sets, so I had to take the small loss.

Result: Blake won 6-3, 6-4

Bets for the match:

Lay Blake 30€ @ 1.34

Back Blake 29€ @ 1.33

Loss: 0,63€ (-6,17% ROI)

We don't play this game to lose


As Loocie is still abroad, I went without him to see the third match of german icehockey league quarter final series between Cologne Sharks and Manheim Eagles. It turned out to be a historic match. After a tied score of 4-4 the game went into the Overtime... into 6 Overtimes.

168 Minutes and 16 seconds of playoff icehockey. The most exciting sport event I ever visited. It was the second longest hockey match of all times with only 8 minutes off to the all time record.

The official result:

Köln (Cologne) - Mannheim 5:4 OT (3:1, 1:1, 0:2, 0:0, 0:0, 0:0, 0:0, 0:0,1:0)

Köln leads the series now 2-1.

Incredible match... no words can cover this, so see some impressions.

German Hockey Playoffs

Loocie an me visited a live event today. First match of quarter final series in german icehockey league.

Mannheim playing at Köln (Cologne).

Short review of the game... tickets for the second row, great crowd, great match, with Köln leading 4-0 after second periods and winning 4-3 after a very tight and exciting third period.
